Q:  Is it okay to have your computer on a carpet floor?

A:  If your case is properly grounded, this should be okay.  If you have plush or shag carpeting, this may present a problem.  If the carpet fiber is touching the front of the computer case in any way, you should not place the computer on the carpet.  This can lead to your system overheating.


TROUBLESHOOTING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Q:  Is it bad to shut down your computer many times during the day?

A:  It's not necessary to do this, and it can be stressful on your computer components.  If you are concerned about power usage, ensure that you have enabled the power saving features available for your system such as sleep mode.
